Turn a Mont Blanc Style Pen

Pen turning on a small or full-size lathe has become a popular hobby. Liv Babra will guide each participant through the safety aspects of turning pens, the preparation of pen blanks, and finishing the final product. Pen blanks and kits will be supplied. Participants will go home with their own Mont Blanc style pen. No turning experience is required.
Fee: $40.00

Liv Babra is an experienced woodcarver, painter and sculptor with a degree in fine arts. Liv now teaches the fine art of carving.

Turn a Goblet

Tuesday, October 19, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

In this hands-on seminar with Liv Babra, participants will have an opportunity to learn the techniques to turn a full-size, hardwood goblet on a lathe. With their thin figured walls and finial-shaped stems, these delicate goblets are both functional and ornamental. Those with previous turning experience will gain the most from this seminar. All tools and materials will be provided to complete this project.

Carve a Santa

Thursday, November 18, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
and Friday, November 19, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Carve a 3-D Santa just in time for your Christmas decorating. Beginning as a 14" length of basswood, your stylized Santa will emerge as Liv Babra outlines each step. Liv will emphasize the safe and proper use of sharp tools. Some carving experience is recommended. All tools and materials will be supplied.
