Liv Babra, Artist-Sculptor-Educator
Sculptor of Art in Action
Sculptor of fine Wood and Stone Artifacts

Born in Kenya, Liv Babra grew up spending holidays on the grand foothills of Mount Kilmanjaro, where his grandfather owned the local sawmills. It was here in the family lineage of craftsmanship that he discovered his deep appreciation and passion for wood. In this youthful time of learning, Liv was also exposed to the fine art of African carvings, leaving a profound impression on his creative mind.
Graduating with Bachelor of Fine Arts from Corcoran School of Art, in Washington D.C., he pursued his creative career passions vigorously in painting and photography. At a pivotal point, with an excitement to explore other creative mediums Liv returned to his youthful passions for wood and began carving. With his original appreciation's rediscovered, his passion for wood became stronger than his desire to paint; and he now devotes the lion share of his energy to sculpting in wood. Liv also enjoys teaching the art of carving and presents a regular series of workshops at his Brampton studio and for Lee Valley Tools, Toronto.
